Take a step back in time and immerse yourself in 18th Century Britain at Hopetoun House. One of the most splendid examples of Georgian architecture in Britain, Hopetoun House boasts magnificent interiors with original furnishings and décor set amidst 150 acres of rolling parkland. A truly wonderful day out for the whole family, discover the history of Hopetoun House with guides on hand to take you through the exquisite interiors. Bring a picnic and explore the extensive woodland walks and breath taking views of the River Forth. Why not round the day off with a visit to the Stables Tea Room offering wonderful lunches, tempting snacks and famed for it’s Champagne afternoon teas. The House and Grounds are open to the public daily from Easter to the end of September but pre-booked group visits can be accommodated throughout the year. Hopetoun hosts many special one off events such as the annual Summer Fair as well as a number of Ranger activities, outdoor theatre performances and education activities throughout the season. Details about all the extra events can be found on the Hopetoun House website. Hopetoun is also available for weddings and all types of corporate hospitality.

| Car: | From Edinburgh: Take the A90 for the Forth Road Bridge and the North. Just before the bridge take the slip road and turn left on to the A904. Approximately half a mile along this road turn right into South Queensferry. Directly under the road bridge there is a sign to Hopetoun House.(12 miles, 30 mins.) From the North: When leaving the Forth Road Bridge, take the sliproad on the left and follow the signs leading to and through South Queensferry. (40 miles, 45 mins) From Glasgow: Take the M8 towards Edinburgh exiting at junction 2 towards the Forth Road Bridge and then exit the M9 onto the A8000 slip road, still signed for the Forth Road Bridge. From Stirling: Take the M9 towards Edinburgh and exit at Junction 2 proceed along the A904 through Newton Village looking for signs directing you left into South Queensferry which is approximately 2 miles beyond Newton.(31 miles, 40 mins) |
